God loves you and has a plan for you life.

John 3:16: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (NIV)

John 10:0b: “I (Jesus) have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (NIV)

If God loves the whole world and has such a wonderful plan, then why are most people not experiencing the full and meaningful life He offers?

We have a sin problem.

Romans 3:23: “…all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (NIV).

Romans 6:23: “… the wages of sin is death…” (NIV)

Sin is anything that we do that displeases God. The ultimate cost of our sin problem is death and an eternity apart from God. Just like a speeding ticket results in a fine that must be paid, your sin carries with it a penalty… a spiritual death and an eternity separated from God in Hell.

There is nothing you can do to fix your sin problem, but God loves you and has provided a way for you to experience forgiveness from your sin, to live an abundant, purpose filled life on earth, and to have everlasting life in heaven with Him.

Jesus handled your sin problem.

John 1:1,14: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the father, full of grace and truth.” (NIV)

1 Peter 3:18: “For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.” (NIV)

Romans 4:25: “He (Jesus) was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

While there is nothing you can do to fix your sin problem, Jesus took on the punishment that you deserved and paid the penalty that you owed. In doing so, he conqured death and provided a way for you to have a walk with God. Because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, you can experience new life for all eternity in the presence of God.

But simply knowing this information is not enough. You must respond.

The ball is in your court.

John 1:12: “Yet to all who received him (Jesus), to thouse who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”

Romans 10:13: “…everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

God has offered you the gift of eternal life, but you must be willing to turn your life over to him. It isn’t enough to simply know that Jesus died for your sins, you must turn away from your sins and place your focus on God. You do this by:

  1. Admitting that you have a sin problem that you can’t fix.
  2. Believing that when Jesus Christ died on the cross that he did it to pay the penalty that you incurred because of your sin problem.
  3. Confessing that Jesus is now the Lord of your life. From here on your desire is to follow him and to honor him with your life. This done not so you can earn God’s love, but because of what he has done for you and because of what he saved you from.

If you would like to give your life to Jesus right now, I would like to invite you to say the prayer that we have provided below as a guide. If you have decided to follow Jesus and to enter into a relationship with him, please let us know by calling the church at 205-647-3357. A member of our pastoral staff is looking forward to hearing from you and your experience with God.

God in heaven,
I know that I’m a sinner. I know that I have done things that have displeased you. But I believe that when Jesus Christ died on the cross that he bore my punishment. I believe that when he died on the cross that he did so with me in mind. And so today, I want to make him the Lord of my life. I will follow and serve him for the rest of my days. Thank you, God, that you love me so much that you provided a way for me to experience a fresh start, and a new beginning, and an eternal life with You. Amen.
